|
|
I have an analog track (i.e. not midi) and there is one section in that track where I want to boost the volume.
Say for example that in the last verse, I want to raise the volume by 3db. It seems the only way to do that, is to raise the volume of the entire track by 3db, then insert an automated level event at the beginning of the track to cut the volume by 3db to bring the track level back to it's "normal" volume, then insert an automated level event in the last verse where I can now raise the volume by 3db.
Hope my description makes sense. Is that the only way to boost the volume of just one section of a track? _________________ Visit my music projects site |

Yes, that the right approach. Alternatively you could boost the audio output on your analogue device as Podium records your last verse.
The track output level is a static slider. It defines the maximum value of the automated level event/clip.
You could also add a gain plugin to the track but that would still require an automation event/clip. |

You mean "play louder"? If that was an option then yes I could do that. I have a waveform that I didn't record and asking it to be re-recorded louder is less efficient than what I'm already doing.

Good idea. Yes it would still require a level event but it has the appeal that I don't have to raise and then lower the level of the whole track.
Thanks, I'll keep this in mind the next time I need to boost the volume on part of a waveform. _________________ Visit my music projects site |

| You could also split the sound event where you want to boost, set up a crossfade by resizing the events so they overlap, and then raise the gain of the new sound event. |

That's what I was looking for. I didn't realize I could independently adjust the volume of a sound event through the sound event properties.
Good to know. _________________ Visit my music projects site |

Actually, I just do it by grabbing the top border of the sound event in the arrangement window and pushing it up or down. |

Thanks for adding that kim_otcj
It just keeps getting better. I keep discovering that Podium already has the functionality I need as my needs increase. _________________ Visit my music projects site |
