Hi, long time no seen.

Can you Frits tell me when you make those "fully customized controls"?

I have using S1 now little while and i rly rly miss just pressing D key to duplicate notes in pianoroll and clips in playlist. This holding CTRL and drag and drop thing is kinda slow way.. And Podium's "insert" key doesn't work in same way.. Rolling Eyes

I'm very happy couple recent updates you made! Sadly i cant still find possibility to strech notes on selection tool ;D Its not so big thing to do.. So why you cant do it? You do almost everything that other users request..

And last one,

When you make swing option to us?

I just want to say thanks for couple latest updates. Now Podium is rly start to show the potential which it has. Good work! Applause

I am considering an alternative tool system, so that's why I am not making minor changes to the existing behaviour, as this could turn out to be wasted work. What I am considering is to have separate tool selectors for left, middle, right and X mouse button, instead of the current bar of left-click tools. Thus you can select "select" tool for left-click, and pencil tool for right-click, etc. This method is used in some other hosts. I believe Logic Audio uses this type of tool selection.

Don't know, but I'm anxious to get working on this myself. My current focus is to streamline the workflow of the existing feature-set, before I start implementing major new features.

Thanks for answering. Maybe you should also make some graphical GUI changes. Make it more "future look". Like S1. We live in 2009 now Smile

Damn.. Why i didn't learn to coding when i was young? :/ I would like to help you developing podium Rolling Eyes

Hope the possibility of having the tools on left click will persist somehow. I'm using podium on a tablet pc and left clicking means only putting the tip on the screeen while right clicking or emulating the middle mouse button is a bit awkward, would kind of take the edge of using the pen at all.
The quick button row in the midi editor works extremely well with a pen, faster than in any other app. Maybe something similar, like a definable floating tools palette could stay in podium as an option?
(a floating tool palette would be better than under the menu, because it now gets cut off in portrait mode)

Good idea. More workflow related revisions to Podium will certainly help. There have of course been plenty already but even more will simplify things further. Smile

If you end up making controls for the middle mouse button, please make them optional or assignable to another control. All of the mice I own are 2-button mice, with the "middle" being a scroll wheel.

Cheers,

Malcolm.

I'm not a fan of this approach, but as long as you can still create and erase notes with the select tool I won't complain. Smile

Things like drawing a selection rectangle with the right mouse button (as in Reaper, though I'm sure it's configurable) just feel awkward to me.

Yeah, and I loathe it as a way of triggering actions. I only want to use a scroll wheel for scrolling. Smile

Me too! Right-click selection is the main reason I've never felt really comfortable with Reaper. Smile
